Big difference over tuition fees

I’M NO great defender of David Cameron, but Dani
Garavelli misrepresents the situation on tuition fees in England (Insight, 6 October).

The fact is no student attending an English university will pay any tuition-related fees until after they have
graduated, and only then will start repaying once they earn more than £22,000. Here in Scotland, graduates start repayment of their student loans etc when they start earning over £15,000.

Some balance and honesty in this whole debate would not go amiss, especially at a time when “Joe Public” needs the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth ahead of the referendum in 2014.
