Bids for £65m road contracts are motoring

FOUR bidders are set to compete for a key £65 million contract to carry out works to upgrade the M9 as part of the £2 billion Forth crossing project.

The four consortia, comprising seven major construction firms, are set to compete for the contract to upgrade M9 Junction 1a.

Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson, said: "The contract is anticipated to be worth between 46 million and 65 million and will improve connectivity and functionality between the M9 and the new Forth Replacement Crossing.

"This level of competition will continue to help us ensure the Forth Replacement Crossing represents the best value-for-money for the public purse."
