Bid to raise £10k for sick teenager

A FUNDRAISER for a boy with a rare life-threatening illness is being held tomorrow at the Grassmarket.

Teenager Rory MaCrae, from Stirling, is the only recorded sufferer of Wegener's Granulomatosis in Scotland - a disease of the immune system which affects the body's main organs.

So damaging is the illness that 15-year-old's last hope of survival is a kidney and lung transplant.

A money-spinning event by The Scottish Literary Tour trust is being held in the Beehive Inn from 7pm tomorrow.

It is hoped the fundraiser will go some way to raising 10,000 to assist with his mounting support costs.
