Bid to boost homes access

A DRIVE to improve disabled access to housing in Scotland was launched in Edinburgh today. Capability Scotland said housing was the key to independent living, but many disabled people still faced barriers in finding somewhere to call home.

The charity's Richard Hamer said: "By promoting and facilitating a better understanding of disabled people's housing needs within the Scottish Government, local authorities and housing associations, we believe that the situation can be turned around and many more disabled people can enjoy living in their own homes."
