Ben Nevis trek to make vital cash for cancer

A CANCER charity is calling on people in the Lothians to sign up to climb the UK's highest mountain.

Macmillan Cancer Support is looking for 100 people to take part in a 4,400ft climb up Ben Nevis to raise cash to fund cancer services.

Macmillan hopes to raise 50,000 from the May event.

The challenge will kick off on Friday, 14 May, with dinner in Fort William. Climbers will aim to conquer Ben Nevis the following day, with a celebratory dinner held that night.
