Bellany 'will keep painting'

RENOWNED East Lothian artist John Bellany is determined to continue painting despite being told he is losing his sight.

Mr Bellany, 67, whose works are held in major galleries around the world, has faced down past health crises, including a liver transplant and a heart attack that nearly killed him.

Last week he was told he is suffering from macular degeneration, the loss of central vision which can make it impossible to read or to recognise faces.
