Beechgrove appearance for Lothian couple

A GREEN-fingered couple from West Lothian are set to star on television's Beechgrove Garden.

The garden of John and Isabel Macdonald, who live at Houston Gardens in Uphall, will appear on the popular gardening programme on Friday, as well as the Royal Edinburgh Community Gardens in Morningside.

Mr and Mrs Macdonald won first prize in both the Broxburn area and containers garden categories in this year's gardening competition run by West Lothian Council.

The competition judges were Elspeth Ross from Oatridge College and Scott Hill-Anderson from West Lothian Council.

The programme featuring the couple's garden will be shown on BBC 1 on Friday at 7.30pm.
