‘Bee’ is buzz word at lab

SCIENTISTS in Edinburgh have been carrying out checks on bees across Scotland as part of the nation’s first bee health survey.

The worldwide honey-bee population is diminishing due to an increase in diseases.

The testing is being carried out by SASA (Science and Advice for Scottish Agriculture) at its Edinburgh labs.

The results, to be published next year, will be used in
deciding future treatment of diseases.
