Beckhams expecting baby number four

David and Victoria Beckham were celebrating yesterday after announcing that they are expecting a baby in the summer.

A message on David Beckham's Facebook page said: "I've got some great news to tell you all. Victoria and I are expecting our fourth child this summer. The boys are very excited about the arrival of a new brother or sister."

The England football star and his fashion designer wife are currently based in Los Angeles, where he plays for LA Galaxy and already have three sons, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five.

Amanda Holden, who recently announced her own pregnancy, took to her Twitter page to congratulate the couple and wrote: "Great News that the Beckhams are expecting their 4th child! Hope they get a pink one!"

The former Manchester United star and England captain has been married to former Spice Girl singer Victoria since 1999.

David Beckham, 35, met Victoria Adams, 36, in the 1990s when she was known as "Posh Spice" in the hugely successful girl band. The perfect media match-up, the couple were dubbed "Posh and Becks" and instantly catapulted into the limelight.

A spokeswoman for Mrs Beckham, confirmed the baby news but declined to give a more specific due date or confirm how far the pregnancy was advanced.

That the celebrity pair had been keen for a fourth child was confirmed in April last year when David Beckham admitted that he and his wife were "always trying" for a baby.
