Beaches fly beauty flag

Seven beaches in East Lothian will be flying Seaside Award flags this year after assessment by environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.

Gosford Bay, Longniddry No. 1 and Yellowcraig are recurring recipients of the Rural Seaside Award, along with North Berwick Milsey Bay and North Berwick West Beach. Gullane Bents was also recognised, having been one of the first beaches in Scotland to receive the award 19 years ago. Belhaven Bay was selected for its 17th consecutive year.

A total of 38 beaches across Scotland have received the Rural Seaside Award in 2011.
