BBC tribunal winner returns to the screen

She is to join Rav Wilding as a roving host of the channel's Crimewatch Roadshow when it returns for a third series in June.

Last month she disclosed she had been in talks with BBC bosses, with a view to returning to screens.

O'Reilly won her tribunal case in January after she was dropped as a presenter of Countryfile.

She will broadcast from streets around the UK looking at everyday crimes.

O'Reilly said: "I'm delighted to be working on a programme that can really make a difference. Last year's series led to many criminals being arrested.

"It's a chance for me to use my journalistic skills and I'm really looking forward to getting back to the buzz of live TV".

BBC1 daytime controller Liam Keelan said: "I'm delighted to welcome Miriam to the team.

"Crimewatch Roadshow has gone from strength to strength over the last two years, and I know that Miriam's proven experience as a journalist will only strengthen the series."

The four-week series will also ask the public to help trace 80 "wanted" people when it returns on 6 June.
