BBC to cap wages of its executives

THE BBC is introducing a wage cap so top bosses cannot earn more than nine times the median wage of their staff.

Senior managers will also lose perks including bonuses.

BBC Trust chairman Lord Patten said licence fee payers do not expect the BBC to pay "sky-high commercial rewards to people that work for a public service".
