The break-in took place between 4.30pm on Sunday and 8am on Monday.

Detective Sergeant Nick Brookfield said: “The value of the stolen items and the damage caused by the fires is still being established. However, we believe it to be substantial.

“Officers are conducting local inquiries in the area to identify those responsible and we are keen to hear from members of the public who remember seeing anything suspicious around the industrial estate between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. As part of our investigation we will engage with local retailers who specialise in the sale or resale of metal, car parts and tools and urge them to get in touch should anyone offer them items matching the stolen goods.”
