Barnardo’s opens first donation centre in city

Children’s charity Barnardo’s has opened its first Scottish donation centre at Meadowbank.

The centre’s main function is to make it easy and convenient for the public to drop off their donations as they visit Meadowbank Retail Park.

Customers will also benefit from a sales floor.

Area business manager Marie Williams said: “The store’s central location means it is the perfect place to feed surrounding stores with stock.

“There’s also a high footfall of customers at the Meadowbank Retail Park, and it’s hoped that the donation centre will tap into this passing custom.”

The centre is looking for donations of furniture, electricals, clothing, accessories, jewellery, homewares, books, CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays.
