Barnado's to close school

A BARNADO'S-run school has confirmed it is to close at the end of June.

Blackford Brae School, which has 16 primary-age pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, has written to parents confirming it no longer has the funds to stay open, it was reported today.

The school, which receives most of its funding from the city council, wrote to parents that places "haven't been fully filled for some time and a significant proportion of current students will be leaving this summer".

Parents have vowed to fight the closure.
