Bar tastings plan toasted

A TASTING room could be created as part of the refurbishment of a New Town pub.

The Evening News revealed last week that the IONAPub Partnership plans to turn the top floor of Eighty Queen Street into a surveyor's showroom, with the separate lower area to become a basement bar.

An application has been approved by the city's licensing board for "tastings" to be added to the existing licence.

Representatives of the firm said negotiations wee continuing with a prospective pub tenant, who had asked for a room at the back to become a "tasting room".
