Bank gives project £3k

CANONGATE Youth Project (CYP) has been awarded a £3000 cash donation from the Royal Bank of Scotland thanks to a voting campaign by local residents.

The project, which runs a wide range of services for young people including youth clubs and holiday programmes, will use the money to equip a new kitchen for the youngsters.

In July, the bank announced details of a new community fund to support local charities and projects, and invited customers and locals to decide who should benefit. They chose CYP to scoop the top prize.
