Band ready to do battle at festival

the Battlefield Band's Music Tryst Festival will be held at the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange on August 5 to 7.

The programme includes concerts, lessons/workshops and informal sessions led by the band, along with their special musical guests. The opening concert on August 5 will feature Tich Frier, Michael Marra and Mike Whellans, on stage from 7pm. There will also be open mic sessions and dancing from 5pm, resuming after the concert and running until midnight.

Workshops include tuition in blues harmonica, guitar, fiddle, bagpipes and song-making. The weekend ends with an informal, ticketed but free event at 12.30pm on August 7.
