Bail for man held in murder inquiry

ONE of the people charged in connection with the murder of a man in West Lothian has been released from custody.

Alan Hunter, 25, of Livingston, died last month after being found injured at a property in Whitburn.

A Crown Office spokesman said Daniel Innes, 21, of Bathgate, who was charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice and failure to appear at court, had been released on bail.

At an appearance at Livingston Sheriff Court, two of his co-accused Billy Black, 29, of Bathgate, and Lawson Shaw, 32, of Harthill, were remanded in custody on charges of murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice. Black also faced a charge of failure to appear at court. Natasha Fraser, 21, of Whitburn, was remanded on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and failure to appear at court.

The four accused made no plea or declaration during petition appearances in private on Tuesday and were fully committed for further examination.
