Bad truck for driver as lorry gets wedged

POLICE closed off a city centre street after a lorry became stuck under a bridge.

The accident happened at around lunchtime yesterday in New Street.

The lorry belonged to Glasgow-based Ritchies Training Centre, which provides training for HGV drivers. The firm has launched an investigation and a spokesman said none of their vehicles should have been in Edinburgh at the time.

The driver of the vehicle refused to comment.
