Bad news in pipeline as British Gas sheds jobs

British Gas said the cuts were part of a review of resource levels in its services business and will focus on management and support roles.

A statement said: “If we are going to remain competitive and offer the best prices for our customers, we need to reduce our costs.”

The banking group said its looming cuts were part of plans to reshape business banking operations.
