Bad booze news for 12

POLICE have charged a dozen motorists with drink-driving in Lothian and Borders in the final week of the festive crackdown.

The arrests brought the number of people allegedly caught over the limit during the campaign to 72, a fall on last year's total of 95.

Across Scotland, 137 drivers were arrested for being over the legal limit during the last week, bringing the total number of arrests to 490, of which 47 were found to be repeat drink-drivers.
