Baby spiders join the family

NINE baby pink toe tarantulas have arrived at Deep Sea World in North Queensferry as part of a captive breeding programme for the giant spiders.

The babies, which are just 5cms across, were born earlier this year at Deep Sea World's sister attraction, the Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire.

Visitors to the '8' exhibition will be able to watch the tarantulas from outside the display, and "climb" inside to view them through a two-metre tall acrylic viewing tower.
