Baby rescued from electric blanket fire

A SIX-month-old baby was taken to hospital after a faulty electric blanket caused a fire to break out in a bedroom.

Fire crews were called to the house at Cobden Crescent, Newington, Edinburgh, at around 12:20 yesterday morning.

The baby boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, where he was treated for smoke inhalation.
