BA cabin crew to vote on deal

British Airways cabin crew are to vote on a proposed deal aimed at ending their year-long dispute after a breakthrough in lengthy peace talks.

The ballot is expected to start next week, with the result due in mid-November. The company has offered a two-year pay deal from next February, worth up to 2.9 per cent in year one and 3 per cent the following year.

Tony Woodley, joint leader of Unite, said: "Our members, who have shown exemplary solidarity and discipline, will now decide whether this offer meets their requirements. Representatives agreed that it is the best that can be achieved through negotiation in the current climate."
