Awards for 5 top garages

FIVE Scottish garages were shortlisted yesterday for a new motor industry award to encourage better standards among vehicle repair and servicing firms.

Edinburgh accident repair specialist Seafield Coachworks, Fife firm North Road Garage in Kelty, Arnold Clark in Paisley, Morrisons in Stirling and Volkswagen Van Centre in Edinburgh were named as the top five in Scotland in the Golden Garages competition.

They are among the top 50 garages in the UK as voted by customers, with the winner to be announced next month.

The contest was launched after research showed nearly half of UK drivers felt ripped off by garages.
