Award lands students a seat at top table

A GROUP of catering students from Telford College have been named best overall restaurant team as well as scooping the gold award for their front-of-house service in a national hospitality competition.

The team was also given a bronze medal in the kitchen category at the Future Talent Restaurant Competition, which is part of the annual ScotHot trade show.

Telford student Kim Thomas said: "It was a great opportunity to show the industry what we can do."

Telford's front-of-house lecturer Richard Morris said: "I am extremely proud of the learners whose efforts were rewarded. This can only be beneficial to them for their future careers within the industry. I can only say that we were blown away with the result - roll on more competitions."
