Award hope for housing association

THE Port of Leith Housing Association has been shortlisted for a Scottish Home Award for its new development at Western Harbour.

The Goosander Place development, which will be opened in June, is the first affordable housing at Western Harbour.

It has been shortlisted along with four others for the large affordable housing development of the year title.

Keith Anderson, chief executive at PoLHA, said: "We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. This is a substantial project and will give many families a safe, modern and affordable home in a desirable area."

The winners will be announced at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa on 17 June.

Port of Leith Housing Association is the largest social landlord in Leith, providing 2,200 homes.
