Asthma attack teen dies despite rush to hospital

TRIBUTES poured in today for a city schoolgirl who died after a suspected asthma attack.

Kelsey Hogg, 15, collapsed at home on Sunday night and was rushed to hospital but later died.

Social networking sites were flooded with messages expressing disbelief at the popular teenager’s sudden death and offering sympathy to her devastated family.

Kelsey was a pupil at Holy Rood RC High School. The ambulance service received a call to her home in Britwell Crescent, Restalrig, at 11.10pm on Sunday. Two rapid response units and two ambulances were dispatched to the house.

She was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where she passed away.

Friends paid tribute to Kelsey on Facebook. Jodie Kane wrote: “I have no clue what I’m going to do 
without you. Not hit me at all yet. I love you so much and would do anything just to see you one more time.”

Jack Fairburn wrote: “Kelsey, you were possibly the funniest lassie ever and such a good pal. I knew you since nursery. You will never be forgotten.”

Others took to Twitter to voice their sadness. ellieknowles said: “Don’t think there was one person who hated @kelseyhogg_97 best person in the world!! Xxx.”

@NaatashaRose said: “Going to be one more star in the sky tonight!”

Daniel Simpson wrote: “Still in shock thoughts, go to the Hogg family at this difficult time for everybody.” Evie Forsyth tweeted: “Taken far too soon! My thoughts are with your family and friends, it’s obvious you are going to be deeply missed.”

Lewis Anderson wrote: “Such a lovely girl, with great potential! Had a bright future ahead of her.”
