Artists drawn together for exhibition

A GROUP of Craigmillar artists have joined together to form one super-exhibition of works they have created over the past year.

The showcase of community talent includes local sculpture, landscapes, portraits and other art projects, in a variety of mediums. Works in pencil, charcoal, watercolour and pastel will all feature.

The exhibition will be opened by local hero Alexander Brown, who was the 2009 winner of Edinburgh city council's "Get Up and Go Award" for challenging stereotypes of older people.

The works are set to be unveiled at Artspace, on Harewood Road, on July 12.

Artists include Linda Henniker, Gordon Stewart, Grace Pow, Jen McKay and Nick Shaw. Each artist is allowed to exhibit up to six pieces.

The exhibition is open daily and is expected to finish on August 30.
