Art shows LA without the Hollywood

AN ARTIST is set to curate an art exhibition with a difference in the Capital next month.

Lalaland, by Kristina E King, is due to be shown at the Tent Gallery.

Kristina said: “As an Angeleno artist myself who now lives and works in Edinburgh, I now experience my home town through Hollywood media.

“I desired to create a show of art from Los Angeles here in Scotland about artists who have also left Los Angeles or are still living and working there, while stripping away the elements of Hollywood cinema and television programmes.”

She added: “The show is in conjunction with my postgraduate programme, Art, Space, and Nature in the School of Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art.”

The art exhibition, featuring the work of 23 artists, will open on Thursday, February 23 from 6-9pm, and continue through to Sunday, February 26 between 11am-5pm.
