Arrests made after £100K cannabis haul

TWO men were arrested when officers found £100,000-worth of drugs in a car travelling on a motorway, police said today.

Officers stopped the vehicle as it was travelling northbound on the M74, near Lesmahagow, South Lanarkshire, at around 11.45am yesterday.

When they searched the car they found cannabis, with an estimated street value of 100,000.

Officers also searched a property in Rhindmuir Street, Glasgow, where they found a kilo of cocaine, with an estimated street value of 40,000, and some cash.

Two men aged 32 and 37 were arrested in connection with the recoveries and are expected to appear at Lanark Sheriff Court today.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
