It is understood the event will be rescheduled for March, with bosses hoping for another sell-out. The gig raises money for Radio Forth's Cash for Kids charity.

Students to march over fees hike

STUDENTS were set to march in the Capital today to protest against proposals to increase tuition fees in England.

The march was organised by Edinburgh University Students' Association and was set to include students from across Scotland.

EUSA president Liz Rawlings said: "Scottish institutions will struggle to compete with their wealthier counterparts south of the Border."

Cancer charity memorial to light up the night

the Marie Curie Hospice's Lights to Remember ceremony will take place at 6.30pm tomorrow at Fairmilehead Parish Church in Frogston Road West.

Memorial lights are sponsored by supporters, with all funds going to help the cancer care charity. The service will be led by hospice chaplain Liz Markey, with the lights turned on by Lord Provost George Grubb and music from Holy Trinity Handbells and Firrhill High School. There will be Christmas stalls at the kirk hall from 5pm.

Case of the blues for author

Author Marianne Wheelaghan will be signing copies of her book The Blue Suitcase at the Christmas Arts Market at Out of the Blue, Dalmeny Street, on Saturday. The market runs from 11am to 5pm with stalls offering crafts, painting, fashion, and photography.

On song for fundraiser

A SEASONAL concert in aid of Muirfield Riding Therapy is being held at St Andrew Blackadder Church in North Berwick tomorrow.

The programme includes the Fiddlesticks Youth Orchestra, Dunbar Community Choir and soloist Rachel Coll.

Tickets, costing 5 or 2, are available on the door.

Focus on film-makers

American filmmakers Michael Palmieri and Donal Mosher will answer questions at Edinburgh College of Art on Friday after a screening of their award-winning documentary October Country.
