Around town: Mass busking event to keep prom rocking
Local musicians and street performers are being encouraged to come along and take part in the Big Beach Busk.
More than 800 people have joined a Facebook page in favour of the busking event, and it is hoped that many of them will turn up on the day to support the performers.

Book Festival to celebrate Edwin Morgan's life
The Edinburgh International Book Festival has confirmed that a special event will be held to celebrate the life of poet Edwin Morgan.
Scotland's first national poet died last week and the Book Festival will hold a celebration of his life on Monday.
The event will feature readings of his poems from the likes of Ron Butlin, Janice Galloway, Don Paterson, James Robertson, and Alan Spence, who will also pay their personal tributes.
The event starts at 8pm and will last for 90 minutes.

CITY property agent Rettie & Co has launched a new website.
Among the website's features are tips and advice for buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants as well as dedicated sections for the different parts of the firm's business.
Summer fair for city park
Community group The Friends of Montgomery Street Park are holding a summer fair there from 11am on Saturday to raise money to maintain it.
Attractions will include a children's fancy dress contest on the theme of park life, a cup cake decorating contest for youngsters, a book stall and tombola.

Megan tops her opponents with cake win
A CAPITAL schoolgirl has won a contest to design a topping for Nairns Oatcakes.
Megan Hastie, from Liberton High School, was one of 200 pupils who entered the competition.
Her winning design was called Tutti Fruity Oatcake, and featured crme fraiche topped with strawberries and blueberries with digestive biscuit crumbs sprinkled on the top.
Megan received a cookery book and certificate.
