Army charity festivities to be best ever

ORGANISERS of the annual Christmas Fayre at the Erskine Edinburgh Home in Gilmerton are aiming to make it bigger and better this year.

The care home, run by the veterans' charity Erskine, will host a range of stalls, including Christmas plants and home baking, at the event on December 4.

Visitors will also be given the chance to purchase exclusive Erskine merchandise and Christmas treats before enjoying a cup of tea and mince pie in the home's dedicated recreation room.

East of Scotland fundraiser, John Fyfe, said: "Over the years, the Erskine Edinburgh Home Christmas Fayre has been extremely well supported by the Gilmerton community.

"Once again, we will open our doors to celebrate the start of the festive season with our fantastic range of stalls offering Christmas goods and marvellous home baking.

"Please drop by on December 4 and support Edinburgh veterans."

Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance from the care home reception, with a selection of prizes up for grabs.

Entry to the fayre, which will run from 2 to 4pm, costs 2 for adults and 1 for children.
