Architects hit with lawsuit

THE crisis-hit Scottish architecture firm RMJM is being sued in the Russian courts over allegations of unpaid fees to sub-contractors working on the design for Europe's tallest building, it was reported today.

Jrg Kmmel, the head of German acoustic specialist Muller BBM, which was contracted by Edinburgh-based RMJM to work on the Okhta Center in St Petersburg, said it was suing the practice for 88,000 worth of unpaid fees.

The episode is the latest blow for RMJM, which designed the Scottish Parliament, having already faced an exodus of staff from its Hong Kong offices over allegations of unpaid wages and faced a 410,000 lawsuit from former US employees.
