Appeal over depot blaze

POLICE have appealed for witnesses as they probe a blaze that destroyed 14 vehicles at a bus depot.

The fire, which was started deliberately, broke out at around 6am on Sunday at the Clifton Industrial Estate, in Cliftonhall Road, Newbridge.

Lothian and Borders Fire Service said two cars, two vans, four minibuses, four coaches and two camper vans were destroyed.

A police spokesman said: “Although the cost of the damage is not yet known, it will be considerable. Anyone who was in the area who noticed any suspicious activity, or has any other information that can assist us should contact police.”
