Appeal after man assaulted by teenagers

POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed by a gang of teenagers.

The 43-year-old was walking along a path in the Sighthill area of Glasgow, leading from Pinkston Drive to Pinkston Road, at about 7.25pm on Friday when he was approached by a girl and a boy.

As he walked away, the youth, aged between 14 and 16, was joined by a further two male teenagers and began to follow him. The three then assaulted the man and robbed him of his mobile phone and cash.

The girl was described as between 14 and 16, with brown hair and wearing a green and white hooded top. Police said the man suffered minor injuries to his face and was left extremely distressed.

Strathclyde Police Detective Constable Stuart Stevenson said: "This was an outrageous attack on a man who had decided to go for a walk in his local area.

"This group may think they can get away with this type of behaviour. However, I wish to assure people that is not the case and we will use every resource at our disposal to trace these youths responsible."
