Another touchline stramash summons the authorities

POLICE are questioning Aberdeen FC manager Craig Brown and Motherwell chairman John Boyle after a touchline altercation at yesterday's SPL fixture.

Officials had to separate the pair when they clashed at the mouth of the players' tunnel after Motherwell's win at Fir Park.

Eyewitnesses said Boyle leaned towards Brown and spoke in his ear, before turning away. Brown then grabbed Boyle and the pair became involved in a scuffle before being separated by officials, including Aberdeen assistant manager Archie Knox.

Police officers spoke to Brown at the scene, however Boyle had already left the ground. It is understood police will question him at a later date.

The incident follows the highly publicised touchline clash between Celtic manager Neil Lennon and Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist during an Old Firm cup game.

Last night Brown said: "I have just been with the police. They have asked me not to say anything."
