Annan woman rescued from house blaze dies at scene

A woman who died following an early morning house fire in Annan has been named by police.

An Annan woman was rescued by firefighters but died at the scene.

Andrea Aitken, 46, was rescued by firefighters but died at the scene in the Dumfries and Galloway town.

The emergency services were called to the semi-detached house on Addison Place at around 2.20am on Friday.

Investigations into the cause of the fire have established there were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
