Andy Murray marriage tweet was ‘a joke’
During a Twitter question and answer session, the Wimbledon champion replied to a fan who asked “When are you getting married?” with “We are getting married just after Wimbledon should be a great day.”
As messages of congratulations were sent to the Dunblane-born sportsman, Murray’s dog Maggie May tweeted: “FYI, NOBODY IS GETTING MARRIED. His tweets need a sarcasm disclaimer.”

Hide AdMurray himself added later: “3 things.. I don’t smoke grass, I’m not getting married (yet) and I don’t want to kill Rafael Nadal.”
The 26-year-old Scot, who hinted in his autobiography that he was keen to start a family, was tight-lipped when asked on a TV chat show last November about any wedding plans with Kim, 25.
He wrote in Seventy-Seven: My Road to Wimbledon Glory: “I would like to start a family and try to be a good father.
“It is something that I’m starting to think about because Kim and I have been together for eight years.”
The couple, who stay in a £5 million home in Oxshott in Surrey, got together in 2006.
Ms Sears is the daughter of English tennis coach Nigel Sears, who coached the Slovakian tennis player Daniela Hantuchova.
