Andy Coulson perjury trial over Tommy Sheridan case
THE PERJURY trial of former News of the World editor Andy Coulson will begin later this week.
The 47-year-old journalist appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh before judge Lord Burns.
Mr Coulson is accused of telling lies at the trial of Scottish socialist politician Tommy Sheridan at the High Court in Glasgow in December 2010.
Mr Coulson, of Kent, has entered a plea of not guilty to the allegation.
Judge Lord Burns ordered the trial to begin on Friday after hearing legal submissions.
