Analysis: A potential model - but maybe not high fashion, says expert

DOES Pippa Middleton have what it takes to model on the catwalks of London, Paris and New York? Probably not, but the director of a top modelling agency says she's got "potential".

Alison Bruce, of Colours Agency in Glasgow, thinks Pippa is striking enough to be a model, but would be better suited to commercial work.

"She's more commercial than the usual runway models, but with great skin and such a classically pretty face she could do very well in the commercial division of any large international agency."

Catwalk models have to be at least 5ft 9in and usually range from a size six to a ten. Then there's a certain something model scouts look for which goes beyond a pretty face.

Commercial models, who do catalogue or advert work, tend to be less unusual looking.

Pippa is just tall enough, but possibly a little too conventionally pretty for high-fashion catwalk work.
