Ambulance in car smash

A MAN was taken to hospital after his car collided with an ambulance at a crossroads.

The crash happened at 6.50pm yesterday on Gilmerton Road. The driver of the Renault car was taken to the ERI with a hand injury. The ambulance was not on an emergency call. An investigation is under way.
