All change for Scots as BT muscle in on Premier League

SCOTS football fans will have to pay for three different TV packages after ESPN lost out on broadcasting rights for Premier League games to BT yesterday.

BSkyB will still show the majority of English Premier League matches but BT is taking over from ESPN, securing the rights to broadcast 38 EPL matches per season from 2013.

The Scottish Premier League meanwhile is still being shown on BSKYB and ESPN under a deal which is not due to expire until the end of the 2015-2016 season.

Between next season and 2016 Scottish fans will need to buy packages from all three companies to see all UK matches.

It is the first time that BT has secured premier league broadcasting rights.

BSkyB remains the major broadcaster after securing the rights to 116 games per season.
