Amazingly, it’s not the first time that Aldi has received a shipment of drugs.
In January this year, £5 million worth of cocaine was delivered to the same stores in Berlin, with staff uncovering the unusual delivery wrapped up between bananas, according to the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper.
And last October, police in Munich seized 727lbs of heroin hidden in a truck delivering cucumbers and garlic from Iran.
American parcel firm FedEx uncovered a drug-smuggling operation in 2014 after examining a damaged package in Washington, which turned out to be part of an effort to ship illegal painkillers around the USA.
