Alarm leaves couples in cold

HUNDREDS of Valentine's couples were left out in the cold after one of the Capital's most popular venues was evacuated.

The Omni Centre was emptied at around 10:15pm on Saturday night after lights overheated and set off alarms.

Crowds of people poured out into the street and stood for almost an hour. A spokeswoman for the Omni Centre confirmed that it was a false alarm.
