Airport spots for car sharers

EDINBURGH airport has become the first in the UK to provide spaces for car-share club vehicles.

Streetcar this week based a BMW 118 at the airport's multi-storey car park, while rivals City Car Club will have two Toyota Prius hybrids at the airport from Monday.

The pay-as-you-go cars are available in return for a 50-60 membership fee.

City Car Club has more than 100 cars and nearly 4,000 members in the capital, while Streetcar has ten cars and 150 members.
