Air passenger figures on rise

PASSENGER numbers at Edinburgh Airport increased by more than 13 per cent last month.

BAA, which released the figures, said the number of passengers using the airport had risen by 13.6 per cent compared with January 2010.

The number of passengers handled at BAA's six UK airports increased by 3.8 per cent over the same period.

A total of 7.5 million passengers passed through the six airports last month.

BAA chief executive, Colin Matthews, said: "Passengers want quality service at our airports, from the beginning to the end of their journeys."
