Aggressive woman is handed Asbo

A WOMAN accused of assaulting ambulance staff and police officers, as well as racially abusing the manager of a supermarket, has been hit with an Asbo.

The interim order was granted against 42-year-old Jeanette Cairey, formerly of Forth View, West Barns, Dunbar.

She was accused of swearing and screaming at a neighbour, and attacking emergency workers and staff at a local store.

East Lothian Council applied for an antisocial behaviour order against Cairey following complaints dating back to January last year.

The order bans Cairey from "behaving in a way that causes or is likely to cause alarm or distress to others", being abusive or threatening to residents, both in West Barns and also in Haddington.

Councillor Stuart Currie, the council's community safety leader, said: "This is a particularly distressing case."
